With Joyful praise we gathered tonight in His Holy Name. As we began to pray a word was give: {{ My Children Take This Time Tonight To Listen To My Words Of Wisdom, Then Go Forth And Use Them. }}--The singing filled the Chapel with our voices, and the readings came: Psalms 95--Isaiah 25--Hebrews Ch. 13. ver. 1-7--and--Mark Ch. 11.ver. 20-25. A word of Prophecy was given by Lindy in tongues, and Sal heard, {{ My Love Is Here For Each Of You, My Love Is Here For Each Of You. }} We could feel our Lord's Presence. The teaching tonight was given by Lindy. She shared on how powerful Love is. If we don't have love we have nothing. Love helps us through everything. She share diff. readings: Isaiah Ch.49-ver. 16--Psalms 136--Luke ch.6-ver. 27. She also said we have to choose to Love and Love helps us through everything. We closed after deep sharing, and will meet next Monday, June 27. This is the end of the Month so it will be a night of sharing from the Bible or if you have something to share with us. The evening was attended by many of our Sisters and Brothers. Aswe allowed Jesus to come into our Hearts through song, we could feel His Holy Presence. A word was rec'd from Geri, [[ I Know Each One Of You And I Know Your Needs. ]]--also--was heard, { I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have called you and you are mine. }} Hearing these words filled us even more. The teaching was on Making A Choice, and as believers, we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us. We know we have choices to make--and we can choose joy, peace, positive attitudes, and stability. We can enjoy every day of our lives, but that will not happen by accident. We must choose to do so. So remember choose to live a life that matters, and allow Jesus to walk by your side. We offered up are prayers and close in Peaceful, loving Joy. Until next Monday have a cool and bless week.. Sal

Relationship Problems

I'm 29 years old (Protestant Christian) currently in a Relationship with a Girl who's 8 yrs my senior, (from a different Christian background), who I want to marry and settle down with by GOD's Grace. But Parents on both sides (my Dad & Mom and her Dad) & Relatives do not agree, (due to the age & background) and don't want us to marry.
We would like to marry & settle down with GOD's Grace & Blessings and Approval of both our Parents, on both sides.

Please pray for us to get married & settled down without any obstruction and for GOD to guide us both through our remaining lives, to treat each other with care, honesty, love, trust & understanding and also for us to remain steadfast in our faith.

Please pray for us, to be Blessed by Our Father's Grace and for his timely intervention, so that we would not have to split up or hurt the Parents on both sides.

Now we have started having problems, she does not see a future for us together & wants to be just Friends (after more than 1 year); as she feels she's hurting me !!! I'm completely broken up inside... I don't want to hurt her or lose her !!! I know she still likes me & is hurting inside... She has taken this decision to save us from the problems she thinks will happen in the future...

Please pray for Our Heavenly Father, to show us the way forward; as we both know if we are in a Relationship today its only b'coz of GOD's Grace & Plan or we would never have met at all in Life !!!

New Job Needed

What Was Lost is Now Found - Thanks, God!

This was a big deal.

But as I searched, I prayed.

And the items in question were located (in a place, where had I not found them, someone else certainly would have and then we would have had huge problems.)

So, I just want to say Thank You to God, and Saint Anthony who certainly came to my aid this morning!

Healing in Relationship Needed

Hi all,
I have been struggling with my own prayers and decided to put in a prayer request.

I have separated from a great man in my life that I now believe God has given me since December 2009. While I knew he was the right one, I had allowed negativity to cloud my judgement and behaviour, and led to his departure.

The months that followed, I had agonized and continued to be negative and suspicious of his motives. But praying not only for my recovery but also thanking for him has made me see how much I had meant to him and his efforts to help me. But I was continuously pushing him away. Now that this is clear, all the other issues surrounding us in the past year that I have influence over were also resolved.

I pray for a chance to have him open his heart to me.
I pray for me to have wisdom to see his needs and thoughts.
I pray that we will be open and honest to each other in all circumstances as we are still friends.
I pray that we no longer have to be so withholding about everything, even if it hurts ourselves and the other because honesty would help us grow in the relationship and friendship.
I pray that the love that I now understand and feel albeit delayed, continues to be pure and without greed, jealousy or wrong reasons

Evangelizing the Faith

On a Saturday morning when I look out the window and see well-dressed men and women, in pairs, making their way up to people's front doors and waiting patiently for someone to answer, I know what it means. And while some people will hide behind their curtains and pretend to not be home, I always answer with a smile.

Whether the people at my door are Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormon's, I always assure them with a smile that I am familiar with the saving ways of God and wish them a wonderful day.

As a Catholic, I have doctrinal differences with both of those groups, but I don't get into that on my doorstep. I may not agree with their theology, but I have deep admiration for their willingness to go out in the streets to proclaim it.

I have a hard time proclaiming my faith. Even in situations where it would be expected, I am uncomfortable doing so.

An example would be at the recent Baptism Class my husband and I taught. This is an informal meeting with several couples who hope to have babies baptized in the coming months. We go over the technical details of the day at our church as well as the meaning of Baptism and also some real life examples of how we live our faith with our children.

At this particular class we only had three couples. Two of them had older children (as well as infants), one who was going to be making his First Communion in the coming year. The mother of that child told me that she didn't go to church. Just didn't. She figured she could pray at home just as easily. The other mother of an older child's eyes lit up and she said "Oh yes, that's how I feel too!"

And there we sat, acting as representatives for the church. But we couldn't sit there and say that it was a sin not to go to church. To chastise them would simply convince them they were right in their position. But yet, we couldn't quietly let their assertions go, because it would seem like we agreed. So, I had to say something.

I told them that of course they could pray at home. That it was wonderful to pray at home and in fact they should do it all the time. But then I told them that the Mass offered them something they couldn't get at home. It offered the Eucharist. Don't cheat yourself out of that, I told them. I also shared how when I was in college I was not too consistent in my church going and that after several weeks of missing Mass I felt that something was out of kilter with my life. I went to Mass and suddenly felt much better. It was the first time I'd ever really gone to Mass because I "wanted" to and not because it was expected of me and I had reaped great benefit from it.

I don't know if these families will be getting to Mass anytime soon, but I'm hoping they'll try to go now and then.

And I have even more respect for people who go door to door to tell unsuspecting strangers about God.

Reconciliation Sought

Please pray for my friend, she is in desperate need of a revelation. There is a man who I believe is a scam artist in her life and it is like he has her under his spell. She is disabled and has a very kind heart,he has her suckered in by the fact that she will recieve her money very soon, but she has to keep on giving him more money to help him with fees and to keep his cell phone on and the list goes on & on. I have tried to prove to her that he is just using her and that if he were a real business man he would not need her help he would be able to take out a business loan or work somewhere and get these things for himself. He has even taken over her house and is using it for his office space leaving her with no where to go, She has to spend nights going from place to place like a vagrant because he has convinced her that he needs the full use of her house for his business dealings.He tells her he conducts his business meetings there etc. and has to make important phone calls and has her thinking it would be rude of her to be present for theses meetings in her own bedroom, yet she is a board member in this business. Her children and I have tried to convince her to put a stop to it but she won't. Please pray the blinders come off and she sees that the payoff is not going to come

Need Healing of the Heart and Soul

I have been thrust into a terrible situation with my husband committing suicide last year. Since then I met a wonderful man that I have mistreated. I have been suspicious and moody and angry and thrust things on him no one should have to listen to.

This person is very dear to me, and I know I am heartsick over what my late husband did, and the legal hassles and overwhelming sadness he left me with.

Please pray that my friend finds it in his heart to understand that I am heartsick but getting better, and that when I have a bad day, I did not LIE to him about changing. I am only human and sometimes scared and overwhelmed by all that has happened.

Forgiveness and Redemption

In the Gospel this morning (John 21:1-19) we see the apostles encountering the risen Christ yet again. They haul in a big load of fish and then sit and have a breakfast of fish and bread baked over a charcoal fire. When they finish eating Jesus calls Peter aside and three times he asks Peter "Do you love me?" Peter answers that of course he does, but by the third time starts to get annoyed (as anyone who has repeatedly answered the same question from someone might be).

Jesus asks three times, not because he doesn't hear him answer, or doesn't quite believe what he's being told, but because Peter denied Jesus three times. Jesus gave Peter a chance at redemption. Three denials earlier, and now three assertions of his love.

Peter probably felt pretty far past forgiveness when he first realized that he had denied his Lord just as Jesus had predicted. But Jesus gave him the opportunity to make up for it.

I find this very comforting. We stumble and fall along the way, but Jesus is always there, ready to forgive and to give us another chance.

Tragedy in Haiti

The tragedy unfolding this past week in Haiti is so huge I think it's nearly impossible for any of us to really grasp the horror of it all.

My brother has been living and working in Haiti for the past couple of years. He was in his house - having gotten off work early - when the quake hit. Things started flying off shelves, his china cabinet crashed to the ground. He didn't know what was happening, but he got out of the house. When the world stopped shaking he went back in and grabbed shoes and long pants (he'd been relaxing in shorts and sandals). Three of the houses near his had collapsed. His still stood - but he's unsure how stable it is and has not gone back into it since.

The house next to his had gone down the cliff. A house two houses away had collapsed. Co-workers of his lived there. For the next six hours he helped dig them out of the house. Five of the six people living there got out alive.

He then made his way to the U.S. Embassy where he's been basically living in his office for the past week. He's gotten very little sleep as he has helped with rescues and dealt with administrative issues. In his words it is a nightmare, horrendous and something that has changed his outlook on life and on people forever.

My brother is one of the lucky ones. He is alive. His family was not living in Haiti - so they are safe. He has a roof over his head - even if it is only his office - and food provided by the military to eat. And although he may never be able to recover the possessions in his house, it is not all he owns.

Where is God in all this?

That is the natural question. How can a loving God permit this kind of tragedy?

I don't know why God permits tragedy, except that I believe God created this earth and all that is in it and watches over it, but does not micromanage it. He does not form each cloud and rainstorm at a whim. Things happen because of the natural law of the place God created.

Why doesn't he stop these tragedies? If God is all powerful, he could.

Better minds then mine have grappled with these questions and I don't think anyone has ever come up with a definitive answer.

But what I do see is the goodness of people shining through. People all over the world are donating their time, money and talents to help those who are suffering.

The world got a little smaller last week, when we realized that those in Haiti are the neighbors of everyone in this global community. And people stepped in to help their neighbors.

And there have been little miracles. Today I saw a story that a fifteen-day-old baby was pulled, alive, from the rubble of her house. Fifteen days old. She was eight days old when the earthquake struck. She has spent nearly half her life trapped in rubble. But she is alive. And her mother is alive. And they are together again.

So we praise God for the miracles, he thank him for allowing us to see the goodness in others amidst this horror and we pray, not only for the souls of those who died, but for the living, that they may find peace, that things will get better.

We pray. Because it is the least we can do.

Seven weeks ago I had a daughter. Her name is Addison Smith. She is my first baby. Unfortunately, she has spent much of her young life in the hospital fighting various infections. It is due to these hospital visits that I thought to post today. While at the hospital with my daughter, I received some very upsetting information about terrible things that "might" be wrong with my daughter, but was told I would just have to "wait and see." Of course, I was not just going to sit around and wait and since that time I have been praying tirelessly that the Lord would take away from my daughter any physical or neurological damage, illness, detriment, disease or dysfunction. Of all the prayers I have made in my life I have never prayed harder for anything. At times, I have doubts and find it hard to have the faith that I feel is required for the Lord to intercede on my daughter's behalf, but I never stop praying. I am writing now to ask you to pray for Addison as well. Please pray that she will be healed and that there will be no long term neurological or physical effects for Addison in the future. I know that through faith and prayer this is possible.

I am amazed that I stumbled on this website. I do believe in P.U.S.H.(PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS) I am 25, and I went through health issues with a cancerous tumor this year. And I am grateful to say God healed me. I give all the glory to him. I prayed and fasted like I have never done.

Today I am going through a tough time in my life. I have been talking to this man for a while, whom I believe is a good man of God, and we have been heading in the path of relationship(thats how I saw and understood his actions). Now, is seems he's scared of committment. We had a big argument 6 weeks ago, and since then things haven't been the same. There's just been tension. I had a feeling he would be the one for me. And I don't know if I am losing hope/faith in what I though would have turned into marriage and lasted forever, or he's just not the one.

Please pray for me, as I don't know what to pray for at times. Should I pray for him(as in our relationship), or should I move on. I have been crying because I don't know what to do as I really like this man.

I read stories of marriages healed, and I am hopeful. But I don't know what I should be hopeful for apart from I know and believe in my heart that God will work it all out. Please pray for me. Please pray for peace for me, please pray for me to hear God when he talks to me. Please pray for the right man to come into my life. Please pray for the right man to be a man of God, who would love me like the love in 1st Corinthians 13, and for him not to be scared. for I know the Bible says true love casts out fear. Please pray for me... I really need your prayers. Maybe this man is the man for me, and if/when he comes back, please pray for my heart to be soften and be able to take him with all his flaws, and even though I am very hurt right now, let me be healed from his hurt. Brian has been in hospital for 2 months after neck surgery..looks like they either didn't do a great job on his neck surgery...or PT was too soon. He's back at square one, needing 2 neck surgeries, one from the front and one from the back - withing days of each other. We're all sick about it.
Please pray that he'll have peace and feel the Lord's strength with him.

Bob is now in the Step-down unit from ICU! He'd love for the traech to be out so he can talk and eat normally. We're so very thankful for his apparent progress.

I am asking for prayers that firstly, I get out of this financial stress, that has befallen me due to some mean-spirited people who used the tax department and other means to create strife and stress in my partner's and my life. It eventually lead to our break up; and everytime it looked like we were going to find some way to sort out things and get back together, these few people cast more stones and of late, told my partner that I had turned him into Child Services, which is outrageous considering his is the finest father I know and his son is extraordinary. Rafa thought I might have done this out of hurt for not seeing him or his son after the split, but it is simply not even a consideration, as I will do anything for these 2 fine men. Also hurt and doubt have come to his family about me, as these other people have spun such a web of nonsense. The people are an ex-wife, and ex-girlfriend, a secretary and a person who is insanely jealous of me, and combined they have conspired to split Rafa and I and have been successful. It was so highly organised and they played on weaknesses, call the tax authority, called immigration, called and wrote my employers and people in his office and said gastly things. It all became too much. Unfortunately I am still as is he dealing w/ the fallout and the tax department have gone bloody mad when there is nothing to find. Our accounts have been frozen and has nearly rendered me homeless. Rafa has sold every property he owns and I even borrowed money for cat food...I am extremely hurt and tired. I miss Rafael, his son and his family. I love him and considering what was done, I do not blame him at all understand how he responded. However, there is a greater good and a truth and I ask Dear God that he learns it; as he will not talk or listen to any of my close friends and I don't think they should get involved as he must realise that I love him unconditionally and I would never do such things...and that we can overcome this and he should not be afraid to come back and rekindle, rebuild and celebrate the great love we shared as a family. God please give me strength to come up w/ the money in the few days for my rent, and to have strength to compile the remaining docs for the tax office and see the light at the end of the tunnel. I miss the only true and loving family I know. I understand Rafael's fear but please let him know he has nothing to fear in me. He was an amazing partner. I could not complain. His family are wonderful. Please pray that ego and pride wash away and that he comes home to me. Please help dear God and if all could pray for us and protect us from these people and ask they get their own life, so as to not wish to dismantle and leverage off of ours. One week later there were some signs that our friendship was beginning to heal, and I gave thanks but requested further support. On July 24th our friendship began to be restored to its original joy. I was delighted to get this comment today, because the point of this blog is supposed to be thanks for prayers answered, and so seldom do we see the results of the prayers. But in this case, a prayer request was posted the other day, and the results were almost immediate. Thanks be to God.

My prayer for a reconciliation with FC was just posted tonight. Just hours before it was posted I received a brief email from my friend that simply said "thank you" for a kind message I had sent him. This is the first response he has sent to me in over a month, and I thank God and all those on this blog who are praying for me. I have answered my friend with an explicit offer to reconcile our differences. Please continue your prayers, as they are definitely helping to restore love, faith and peace between us which will be extended to our whole world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, which was breaking. I have hope for the first time.

ALS/MND is a terminal disease with no known cure, it can strike women/men in the mid term of their life. Though no reason or why this disease strikes, it is mostly in men. It's nickname is "The Thief", a muscle and nerve disease. It is a breakdown in communication between the brain and nerves that command the muscles. Walking, talking, eating are some of the areas that are affected. Simple things like turning a key, holding a face cloth, taking a shower, dressing/undressing, hands in and out of pockets, buttoning, zippering become major tasks. Fr. Duffy who is 99 years old and has been a great supporter of First Saturday devotion. He was removed from his apartment and placed in a nursing facility and now is in the hospital with pneumonia. It appears he is going down daily. Please pray for Our Lady & St. Joseph to be with him during this time.

Fr. Svoboda, who is in his 90's and has been a great Rosary Calendar supporter. He also has been removed from his surroundings and is in a nursing facility...

From St. John Vianney HS:

Mrs. Anna Valentine became ill last night while at a church meeting. She complained of a headache, her speech began to slur and then she became confused. By the time she was moved into the ambulance, she was unconscious. She was taken to Centrestate hospital and then immediately transferred to UMDNJ in Newark.

At this time she was undergoing a procedure to install a stint in one of the blood vessels in the brain. No one knows quite yet the severity of her condition but I was told it was serious.

Please keep R. and me in your prayers. Our adoption is nowhere in sight. Our paperwork is now expiring and the adoption agency now wants another $2300 to proceed. We are not sure what God's Will is for us...

They have invested a lot of time, money and emotion to have a child to call their own. They would make terrific parents too!

Please Pray for Luci

Luci is the wife of one of our Church's deacons, Ron Nelson. The Nelsons are on the Board of Hawaii Right to Life as well as involved in the post-abortion ministry Hope Alive.

They were in the Philippine when Luci fell, and striking her head. She was taken to the hospital and developed a serious and life-threatening staph infection.

I am asking for prayers on her behalf as well of those of her husband and family. Her family wants to transport her back to Hawaii but right now it is very difficult medically and financially speaking.

It is with sadness, peace, and joy that we tell you Sue passed away Sunday night, on the feast of Christ the King, November 23, 2008, at 10:00 PM. Sadness in that we will all miss her dearly, peace that she is no longer suffering, and joy that she is smiling down on us from heaven.

May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Please pray for Kathy Hashimoto today. Kathy is a homeschooling mom of 2 beautiful girls (ages about 9 and 11). She has a rare form of cancer and 2 very sick kidneys, and is undergoing dialysis.

Today, some homeschooling mothers will be praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet in her home. We are also praying the novena prayer to Blessed Mother Marianne Cope in the hope that she will receive the next miracle that will approve Mother Marianne's canonization.

A Prayer of Thanks

The reason I wanted to start this blog was as a place where people could not only post prayer requests but give recognition of prayers answered. To that end I suppose I've been a little lax.

Because a prayer of mine has been answered. This was the kind of prayer though that was more like a dream that I kind of would hope maybe God could help along a bit. And he did.

For nearly as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a published author. Last month I got my first publishing contract. So my dream is coming true, my prayer has been answered. In the spring of 2009 my young adult romance novel When Mike Kissed Emma will be published by Wild Rose Press. That's the official book cover there, by the way.

So, thanks God - for a dream come true!
