What Was Lost is Now Found - Thanks, God!

I had a scare this morning and lost something that if not found would have caused problems both practical and financial.

This was a big deal.

But as I searched, I prayed.

And the items in question were located (in a place, where had I not found them, someone else certainly would have and then we would have had huge problems.)

So, I just want to say Thank You to God, and Saint Anthony who certainly came to my aid this morning!

Thanks for Prayers - They're Working

I was delighted to get this comment today, because the point of this blog is supposed to be thanks for prayers answered, and so seldom do we see the results of the prayers. But in this case, a prayer request was posted the other day, and the results were almost immediate. Thanks be to God.

My prayer for a reconciliation with FC was just posted tonight. Just hours before it was posted I received a brief email from my friend that simply said "thank you" for a kind message I had sent him. This is the first response he has sent to me in over a month, and I thank God and all those on this blog who are praying for me. I have answered my friend with an explicit offer to reconcile our differences. Please continue your prayers, as they are definitely helping to restore love, faith and peace between us which will be extended to our whole world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, which was breaking. I have hope for the first time.

Answered Prayers for Sue

Thanks for your prayers for Sue, who was struggling with cancer. She has gone Home.

Here is an excerpt from a letter from her family:

It is with sadness, peace, and joy that we tell you Sue passed away Sunday night, on the feast of Christ the King, November 23, 2008, at 10:00 PM. Sadness in that we will all miss her dearly, peace that she is no longer suffering, and joy that she is smiling down on us from heaven.

May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

A Prayer of Thanks

The reason I wanted to start this blog was as a place where people could not only post prayer requests but give recognition of prayers answered. To that end I suppose I've been a little lax.

Because a prayer of mine has been answered. This was the kind of prayer though that was more like a dream that I kind of would hope maybe God could help along a bit. And he did.

For nearly as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a published author. Last month I got my first publishing contract. So my dream is coming true, my prayer has been answered. In the spring of 2009 my young adult romance novel When Mike Kissed Emma will be published by Wild Rose Press. That's the official book cover there, by the way.

So, thanks God - for a dream come true!

Pastor released from hospital

Just an update to let you all know that our pastor was released from the hospital on Saturday. He is recovering at the abbey where he lives and will hopefully be back to the parish soon! Thanks for all the prayers for this wonderful man!

Praise Report, re: Prayer for Unemployed

Kimberly of Catholic family Vignettes thanks you for your prayers! She joined many families in praying the Prayer to St. Joseph. Though her husband was not unemployed, she asked that her husband's intention be included. Her husband was hoping to get a better job and he got it this week. He starts at the new job next week!

The Rain Didn't Fall - Thank You God

Last week I mentioned that my son would be making his First Communion, followed by a party at the house, and I was praying for it not to rain. It didn't rain. The sun also didn't come out. And it was kind of chilly. But, it didn't rain. So people were able to be outside - and a good time was had by all.

Oh, and also, Thank God that my son did not break his neck when he fell out of the swing set. If he had landed differently, he might have.

Answered Prayer - A Job

Way back in January I posted that my husband had lost his job. Well, we've been praying, and thank you for all your prayers too. He starts a new job next Monday!

Tom is Doing Better - Praise God

Baby Born Healthy and Strong!

Several months ago I posted a prayer request for a friend Laura. There were great concerns about the baby after an ultrasound showed that their might be complications.

On February 24th Laura delivered Thomas into this world healthy and strong. Thank you for all your prayers.

Here is what Laura said:

I want to ask people to thank God so much for answered prayers in regards to Thomas' birth. He is thriving, happy, lets me sleep, and I didn't get any ppd this time at all. We are all just so happy and grateful for all of these gifts.

She also asks that you please pray for her husband who might receive a promotion at work:

...hubs is on the verge (before the end of this year) of getting a HUGE promotion at work. His boss is retiring and he has a really good chance of getting his job. This would be amazing for his future health (no more outside work to kill him early with his chronic asthma problems) and we would no longer have to worry about bills. This is such a biggie!

Father-in-Law's Surgery Went Well

Although the surgery took longer and was more involved than anticipated, there were no complications and everything went well. He is now home from the hospital and well on the road to recovery. Thank you, God.

Answered prayer for a job for Bill

PTL! After nearly a year's time of job hunting, my dh Bill has found a job in his field. (He actually had two job offers, but accepted this one.) We are putting our house on the market and will be moving asap. Thank you for your prayers. God bless you!

Feeling Better - Was it the Prayers?

Lot of people prayed for Alice's daughter when she was suffering from her hip pain. And it seems to have worked. There is no explanation yet for why she was in pain, or why she is now feeling better. But Alice suspects she's feeling better because of the prayers. And I agree. Thank you, God.
