Pray for a Teacher

The following prayer request came to me from an e-mail. The woman is a teacher at my old high school.

From St. John Vianney HS:
Mrs. Anna Valentine became ill last night while at a church meeting. She complained of a headache, her speech began to slur and then she became confused. By the time she was moved into the ambulance, she was unconscious. She was taken to Centrestate hospital and then immediately transferred to UMDNJ in Newark.
At this time she was undergoing a procedure to install a stint in one of the blood vessels in the brain. No one knows quite yet the severity of her condition but I was told it was serious.
Please keep her in your prayers.

Update on Mr. L.

Prayer Request for Mr. L

I just got off the phone with his wife. He is suffering from depression. He is losing weight and he doesn't want to go for Chemo because he feels he is inconveniencing everyone.

He is a dear man, a real gentleman in the truest sense of the word. Can you please remember to pray for him and his family. They are not Catholic but are really grateful for our prayers.

Thank you!

Prayer Request for My Sister and B-i-L

Prayer Request

One of my sisters and her husband have been waiting to adopt a child from China. It has been two years and they are still waiting. The following is from her email to the family:
Please keep R. and me in your prayers. Our adoption is nowhere in sight. Our paperwork is now expiring and the adoption agency now wants another $2300 to proceed. We are not sure what God's Will is for us...
They have invested a lot of time, money and emotion to have a child to call their own. They would make terrific parents too!

Thank you from all our family.

A Prayer of Thanks

The reason I wanted to start this blog was as a place where people could not only post prayer requests but give recognition of prayers answered. To that end I suppose I've been a little lax.

Because a prayer of mine has been answered. This was the kind of prayer though that was more like a dream that I kind of would hope maybe God could help along a bit. And he did.

For nearly as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a published author. Last month I got my first publishing contract. So my dream is coming true, my prayer has been answered. In the spring of 2009 my young adult romance novel When Mike Kissed Emma will be published by Wild Rose Press. That's the official book cover there, by the way.

So, thanks God - for a dream come true!

Butterfly Award

Thanks to Jenn for gracing One Came Back with this sweet reward. I know the rules say that the recipient is supposed to pass this reward on to ten other people. Since this is a collaborative blog I'm not going to do that - instead I say that everyone who is a contributor to One Came Back totally deserves this award!

Thanks again Jenn.

Praise Report and Update - Bob and Rose

Hello Everyone:

I had requested prayers for my other b-i-l's parents who were diagnoses with cancer. They are very devoted to St. Therese of Lisieux. Well, Rose the mom went in for surgery around St. Therese's feast day. Well, she does not have cancer! Her family wanted me tohank you so much for your prayers. Thank you!

As for Bob, the dad, the chemotherapy was making him very sick and he stopped taking the 8 pills a day. He has his appetite back and is feeling better. However, we don't know if the cancer is being affected. Please continue to pray for him.

Thanks again.

Prayer Request - B-i-L's Father

Can you please keep my b-i-l's dad George in your prayers. He has been admitted to the hospital for respiratory problems and other health concerns. Thanks so much!

Prayers For A Daughter...

Ladies *and Gents?!* ~
This was a reply to one of my comments on my Catholic Blog, and while I was reading, it suddenly occurred to me that, not only would it be a good thing for me to pray for this woman's daughter, but it would be a good thing for all of us...
She had posted an Anon. comment to me and when I responded, she wrote back, giving me her name and a very friendly email! :) Don't you just love meeting people through the Internet, esp. when they might need our prayers?!?
God is so good to set His Providence at just the right "speed"...Jenn.*JMJ*
PS ~ She reminds me of the woman who pressured the judge in the parable and got exactly what she wanted! ;) ~
"Hi again! I have just been reading some of your previous "musings" and realized that we are probably exactly in the same part of our lives! My husband and I just celebrated our 32nd anniversary Oct. 2nd. We have 3 daughters--two married and one to be married next June. Ages 30, 27 and 21. Our oldest daughter has had Raynaud's Syndrome and Scleroderma for 23 of those 30 years. Yet, she is a wife, mother of 3 little ones and a published author of poetry!! We have been praying for her for so long that, when I heard of this novena, I knew that it was the next step. After 23 years, sometimes I wonder if I should stop asking God to heal her? Is the 23 years His answer?? But, as a mother, I just can't stop hoping--and asking. She is in constant pain, has lost one finger to the illness and all the rest of her fingers and toes are compromised. She never complains. She is a model of faith to all who meet her. She is the strongest woman I know. Maybe I could ask another mom and grandma (i.e. YOU) to say a prayer for her too? Thank you.
Marge"

The following prayer request was left by an anonymous commenter:

Dear Spiritual Friends~
I read and follow this often. I pray for you always and know that the Lord our God always listens, but only with his calendar does He deliver. I humbly ask you to pray to the Almighty for my children and me. We have found a wonderful man in our life and he has left us. He won't call or write. It is over a big misunderstanding. We love him very much and want to spend our lives with him. Please ask God to go to him and show him the way back to us. We are hurting very badly and know he would complete our family.
Thank you for helping us.

Kimberly has left the following prayer request:

Friends:

Would you please pray for my daughter, Caitlin? Caitlin has just been diagnosed with a complex breast cyst. This is a potentially cancerous cyst and a needle aspiration will be conducted on Thursday. I'm doing all I can to keep her calm, telling her that it's probably nothing, but I have to admit, I'm a bit worried. Caitlin is not currently practicing her faith and is in desperate need of confession. May God in His infinite mercy use this worrisome time as a means to her complete and total reversion! Thanking you in advance for your powerful prayers!!

Update on Bill & New Request

I requested prayer for my dh, Bill, a few months ago after he broke his arm in an accident at work. The broken bone healed and he did not require surgery. PTL!

He has been receiving physical therapy for the past several weeks in order to be able to move his fingers which are bent and rigid. He has been diagnosed with another condition which causes him to have severe pain in that arm, in his hand, as well as in his shoulders. We are still awaiting the worker's comp insurance approval for the treatment he needs for this condition. He is scheduled to have this complex treatment on Tuesday, September 9, which requires an anesthetic. Would you please lift him up in prayer? Thank you.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for him!

Would you please also pray for another special intention related to the first? Thank you.

Grateful...

Prayers of gratitude, please...for my husband Michael who suffers from a myriad of health problems since 2005.
He is medically retired from Ford's and has diabetes, CHF, kidney problems and anemia.
Today he had his checkup with the nephrologist and his numbers are near-normal! They had climbed to dangerous heights, but as it turned out it was mostly due to reactions to different meds...and thanks to Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Philomena, he is fine now.
Please thank God that he is ok and that it was only a false alarm. We are most grateful tonight...Thank-you all very much!
I send my greetings to all of your Angels...

Pray for Repose of a Soul

Yesterday Laura the Crazy Mama requested prayers for a family friend who was dying of cancer. Today she requests prayers as Joe made his final journey.

Our dear family and friends,
For many years, Joe has started his day with a simple, humble prayer: 'Good morning, God. This is Joe. Please be with me today.'

Last night at 9:52 PM, completely surrounded by his family, God replied: 'Hi, Joe. This is God. Please be with me today.' Joe peacefully raised his hands, brought them back towards his chest, took his last breath, and slipped from our arms into God's arms.

We were up for many hours, watching as the full moon became brighter and brighter. Joe's journey has come full circle.

We will meet with the funeral home this afternoon and post the arrangements on this site.

Thank your for sharing this journey with us.

The bus that crashed in North Texas was en route to the Marian Days festival in Carthage , Mo. The annual festival -- which honors the Virgin Mary, patron saint of refugees -- typically draws about 50,000 Vietnamese-American worshipers to that tiny Ozark town.

The religious observance and festival grew out of the arrival of 185 Vietnamese refugees, who were taken to Fort Chaffee , Ark. , after the 1975 fall of Saigon .

They were allowed the use of a vacant seminary at Carthage , which grew into the site of a large Vietnamese congregation.

Pray for Repose of a Soul

From the family of Father Brian Gallagher:

FATHER BRIAN GALLAGHER - OBITUARY

The Reverend Father Brian Gallagher died peacefully in Fernview Convalescent Hospital on Tuesday July 29, 2008. He was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in February 2008 following a serious fall. During his infirmity he was surrounded by his American family and many friends. Unable to return to Ireland to see his family there, and with 3 of his siblings in failing health, his brother Nicholas, his nieces Philomena, Bernadette, & Sheila, and nephew Michael O’Flannagan came for extended visits. He passed away very peacefully surrounded by family and friends and ushered into the Lord’s presence as Father’s dear friends Sister Michele and Sister Mary Bernard (Carmelite Sisters from Sacred Heart Retreat House in Alhambra, California) sang hymns to him in Latin. A fellow All Hallows classmate Monsignor Jack Foley led those present in a time of prayer and gave Father a beautiful blessing which included an Irish blessing and was with him until shortly before his death.

Fr. Brian was ordained at All Hallows College in Dublin for the Diocese of Yakima on June 19, 1960. He served as Assistant Pastor at St. Pius X Church, Quincy, Washington and St. Paul Cathedral, Yakima, Washington; Assistant Pastor, St. Andrew Church, Ellensburg, Washington; Pastor of Immaculate Conception Churches in Mabton and Roslyn, and St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, Benton, Washington.

Following his retirement in 1985, he assisted in parishes and retreat centers around the country and in 1998 became the Chaplin in residence at Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte, California, where he remained until 2006. He then served a small community in San Juan Capistrano, providing a Roman Rite Tridentine Mass. At the time of his fall, although visiting a friend in Arizona, was residing at St Michael's of Morongo Valley, California.

A rosary will be offered Monday, August 4, at 6:30 P.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, Monrovia. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 5, at Noon also at Immaculate Conception Church. This will be followed by a Vigil service on Sunday, August 10 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima, WA 98902, at 5:30 P.M. and a Requiem Mass at the St. Paul Cathedral in Yakima, Washington on Monday, August 11, at 10:00 A.M. with internment at Calvary Cemetery, Yakima, Washington. Subsequent to the services in the United States, a Mass will be celebrated at St. Aidan’s Catholic Church, in Kinlough, County Leitrim, Ireland. This is the home parish of the Gallagher family and the place where Father Brian celebrated his first Mass following his ordination.

The outpouring of love from his family and many friends, and so many people from near and far, parishioners and former parishioners from all over the United States and Ireland has been a more eloquent tribute to the this quiet, good man and holy priest than any words might be.

May he now rest peacefully in the fullness of Life with the Lord he so faithfully served

They are running tests and doing blood work. Please pray everything comes out well.

Please pray for the Unemployed today, Friday

That All May Have Work

O God, the Creator of all things, you have made us in your own image so that we may find joy in creative work: have mercy on all those who are unemployed, and those who find their work dull, especially for _______. Help us to build a society where all may have work and find joy in doing it, for the good of our world and the glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

for Meghan...

Please pray for my niece, Meghan, who had to have emergency surgery last week for a large cyst that was growing on her ovaries. Fortunately, the doctor was able to save them, so if she ever gets married she may still have children, but the cyst itself was causing all kinds of infection.
Thank-you very much for all your prayers; I continue to remember you all in mine!

Prayer Request by a Local Friend in HI

My friend June has requested the following prayer:
..." We need your prayer group for our dear friend Jimmy Loto who lives in Honolulu, had a hip operation and now some heart trouble and his not doing
too good. Please Please have your group pray for him. Thanks..."

A tragedy in Italy

For the repose of the souls of the Gypsy children who drowned in Italy while others ignored their plight and, later, their bodies on the beach. May God grant them eternal rest, and may their souls rest in peace.

Prayers also for their families, and for those who refused to either help the children or respect the presence of their dead bodies.

And prayers for all those in the world who believe it is OK to practice racism.

Please Pray for Non-believers

There's a very sad story in the news lately about a man who has decided to make a point about the Eucharist by purposefully defiling it. I will not link to any articles about it or give his name because I don't want unnecessary attention on this blog due to it.

I'm saddened by this man's hatred and lack of respect for fellow people - regardless if he shares in the same belief.

But this is when I understand what Jesus meant about "turn the other cheek." Fighting this man will not make him change his mind. Yelling at him will not make him change his mind. But perhaps if we love him and pray for him he will come to realize that it is not simply a 'cracker' he is talking about - but the Real Presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Perhaps if love is shown to this man - even though he is showing none to us - he will change his ways. Perhaps he won't. But if he doesn't, we can at least stand before our Lord and say, "I did not hate him. I loved him, even as I despised his actions, and I tried to affect a change in him through prayer." Isn't that what Jesus asks of us. Is it easy? No. He wouldn't have to ask us to do it if it were easy.

I Offer You My Sufferings

Since many of the prayer requests are for people suffering, I thought it appropriate to share the following prayer with you:

I offer You my suffering

Lord Jesus, I can no longer do many things.
My disease has deprived me of energy.
It is difficult not to be able to work!
I wish to offer You my daily suffering.
It is on the cross that You saved us all.
Lord, take my cross and put it on Yours.
I offer my pain for those that are in need;
for the work of mothers and fathers,
for missionaries,
for the leaders of the Church,
and for all who are called to announce Your Gospel.
I offer my pain for those who are more ill than I
and particularly for those who will join You soon.

Praying is about all that I can do at the moment,
but I do it wholeheartedly.
It is a way for me to work for You,
so that I am useful to others.
Amen

Prayer for Pastor

This prayer request is for the pastor of my daughter's parish school. He is a Catholic convert from the Baptist faith and is a tremendous gift to us! He brings to his preaching a solid knowledge of Church teaching infused with a love and deep understanding of Sacred Scripture.

Here is the email I received with the news today:

It was announced today at mass that Father had a blood clot in his brain and surgery was successful. He is at Provena St. Joe's in Joliet in the ICU unit. I know that mom has told people that he cannot have any flowers or any gifts. Cards can be sent to St. Peter's rectory and those will be given to him by another priest.

Please pray for this holy man of God.

Hemophiliac Needs Our Prayers!

This was just sent to me from a dear mom in our parish mom's group:

Hi all! I have an urgent prayer request. I know what wonderful people you are and I am asking you all to please keep this man in your prayers. His name is Bob T and he is at Provena Mercy in the ICU in critical condition. He is a hemophilliac(sorry for the misspelling). Blood is basically coming out of his body from a few different areas. He is getting blood transfusions but it isn't helping much. I know the power of prayer. I thank you all for taking the time. Take care all and God bless!

Thanks everyone,
Jane

Pray for Reconciliation

The following prayer request was left in the comments:

My name is Maria. I love a man whose heart seems to have distanced himself from my children and me. I ache for our reconciliation. We have been apart for over a half year. I feel he may have met someone else and only calls me as an obligation. I long for our monogamous and exclusive relationship to come back. I beg for your prayers and those of our Lord and Saints. Please pray for his heart to find his way back to us and marry. I love him so much. My children love him just as much. Please rekindle his heart and bring him back.

(Note: Maria, if you are the same person who left the anonymous comment that was recently posted here (the prayer requests are strikingly similar) please leave a comment to that effect, and I'll combine these two requests. Thank you)

Pray for Help with a Relationship

An anonymous contributor left the following prayer request:

Thank you for your powerful and moving stories that the power of prayer does, indeed, work. I am beseeching your help for prayer. I am in a similar situation in a relationship that I long for reconciliation. I want it so badly that I am having anxiety attacks. This man is perfect for my boys and me and I would want nothing more than for us to put our differences aside, compromise, and commit to each other. I know that prayer in number is extraordinarily powerful. So, I beseech your help.

Lord, we ask that your will be done, and that in the fullness of time what is right for this woman and her family will occur.

Look down with fatherly compassion upon our brothers and sisters in their anxiety over their present struggle to support their families due to job loss. Please help them find gainful employment very soon, so that this heavy burden of concern will be lifted from their hearts and that they soon will be able to provide for those whom God has entrusted to their care. Help us to guard against bitterness and discouragement, so that we may emerge from this trial spiritually enriched and with even greater blessings from God. Amen.

Pray for Easing of Financial Woes

An anonymous poster has left the following prayer request in the comments:
for a child and their large family - that the Lord will help them meet all their financial needs so they can relax a little and not have to worry so about their financial woes.

Pray for Reconciliation

Eina left the following prayer request in the comments:
Please Pray for Johan and I. I care about him a lot and he is very important to me. We had a huge falling out in December and even though I have made several attempts to reconcile and bring peace he will not accept it. Please pray for a forgiving heart for us both that we can forgive each other and restore our friendship making it stronger than it was. I love Johan a lot and I care about him. I miss our friendship and would like to salvage what we had. Please pray for peace between Johan, his family, friends and I. We all used to love each other and they showed me that they do not care about me and have worked hard to break up my relationship with Johan. Please pray for peace, love, trust and forgiveness between all of us. I care about all of them still and don't want to fight with any of them. I have strived so hard for peace but they keep throwing my efforts back in my face. I need God's help and intervention in this brokenness to heal the love, trust, friendship between Johan and I and his family and friends. Thank you for your prayers. I have been praying all year and I really do want peace between us. Please pray for us. Amen.

The Rain Didn't Fall - Thank You God

Last week I mentioned that my son would be making his First Communion, followed by a party at the house, and I was praying for it not to rain. It didn't rain. The sun also didn't come out. And it was kind of chilly. But, it didn't rain. So people were able to be outside - and a good time was had by all.

Oh, and also, Thank God that my son did not break his neck when he fell out of the swing set. If he had landed differently, he might have.

Prayers for my Grandma V.
Any prayers you guys could give for my grandma "V." would be very much appreciated. She has recently been put back on Chemo-Therapy after several years of her breast cancer being steady, as the cancer numbers have been going up for the past several months. I visited her today and she is not doing well. She is so weak and sick she can't really get out of bed. She suffers many other health issues as well. She has Scleroderma (a tissue disease), borderline diabetes, bad arthritis, some nerve problems in her feet, sleep apnea, and can easily suffer from depression as well. Also, recently she has some sore on her arm which has given her a lot of pain. Praise the Lord she is a good Catholic, but please pray that she would stay close to Jesus through her suffering which she endures 24/7. After her last chemo treatment a few days ago, she could barely talk as she was so out of energy. It almost seems like the chemo will kill her quicker than the cancer! Please pray for her and for our family who is taking care of her. Thank you, and I will pray for you all as well!

Pray for Sunny Skies

On Saturday my son makes his First Communion. They are forecasting rain. Now, I realize, naturally, that the most important part of the day is that he is actually receiving the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. He realizes that too - and is very excited.

But the reality remains that we have over forty people coming to our house for a party to celebrate - and quite frankly they won't all fit in the house. Maybe this is a trivial request. But, please - pray for sun!

Update on Ill Fall Away Catholic

In my orignial post and prayer request here, I mentioned a family member who is having liver faliure and is pregnant.
I just recieved a letter from her and she told me that she is in treatment now for her heroin addiction and is going back to church. She has to be hospitialized often but they are keeping a close eye on her and the baby. She is not going to have an abortion, which is blessed news! I am not sure if she is going to a Catholic church, as she didn't specify, but she is searching for God and that is a blessing indeed.
Her husand has left her and taken the children, however. So please continue to pray for her and her family.
She thanks us all for our prayers. The doctor told her even with a transplant she has only a few years left to live.

Pray for the People of Haiti - and my brother

My brother, Pete, works at the embassy in Port au Prince, Haiti. Apparently there was a lot of rioting there today.

This is the message I got from my mother:
Peter is ok. Our government may send people from the embassy home but Peter would be one of the last to go. The people of Haiti are very poor and food prices have risen 50% in the past year. There's a lot of corruption. Most people are illiterate and believe any rumor. They believe their government is paying the UN. There was rioting at the UN building there the other day, but today was Port au Prince. So please say some prayers for the situation and the safety of everyone - especially Pete. I'll let you know when I learn more. Mom

From Ed's Blog This is so sad. Please pray for the repose of the soul of the father and for his family.

Father of 11 Children Killed in Crash
...Joseph Fogarty, 46, died in a head-on collision on Arnold Road Wednesday night.
And his wife and kids, left with little money and fewer prospects, were at a loss.
“It’s like a nightmare,” said his daughter, Tara Pappas, 26. “You’re waiting to wake up and see your dad.”
Coventry police, who are investigating the accident, said Fogarty’s pickup truck, traveling south, apparently crossed the double line at about 7:20 p.m. and collided with a tractor-trailer carting 10,500 gallons of home heating oil.
He was pronounced dead at Kent Hospital...

Prayer Request for meeting with abortionist

Operation Rescue is asking Christians around the nation for special prayer for a meeting that is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 29, 2008, between pro-lifers and a working abortionist. In order to prevent any efforts to undermine this meeting, we are not able to tell you at this time where the meeting is taking place or who is involved.

This opportunity has been ten years in the works and is the result of much prayer. The abortionist in question is finally at a place where he appears to be open to hearing the truth.

A Note to Contributors

I love the way this blog has grown and how so many wonderful people are part of the team. Thank you all so much.

I have two requests. Housecleaning type of things.

1) Please try to title your posts with something specific "Pray for a Little Boy Who Fell Down a Well"; "Prayer needed for Baby Born Too Early"; "Family of Ill Child needs our Prayers" - you get the idea. This way if someone is trying to locate a particular post in the archives - they are not all labeled "Prayer request" and "urgent prayer request". I have no problem including Urgent in the title. And in fact, you can use that as a label as well. I'm just trying to avoid having all our post titles be the same. Thanks.

2) Answered Prayers. I know that sometimes we don't know the answer to a prayer - especially if we are praying for the needs of someone else - and that sometimes it takes a long time to recognize that a prayer has been answered. I, also know we've gotten a lot of posts that do address answered prayers - and that is fantastic (it's the point of the blog after all). But for all you contributors - if you could occasionally go through the prayer requests you've made and see if there has been an answer to that request - and then tell us about it - so we can all praise God with you, I'd appreciate it.

The Gospel says that "one came back" and thanked God. We want to make that "many came back" and thanked God.

Thanks to all of you who have helped to make this endeavor what it is!

And thanks to Esther for the cute graphic!

**Updated**Prayers for boy with Kawasaki disease!

This is from one of our dear moms in our parish mom's group.

"Please put Joey L. on your prayer list ASAP

His mom is at the hospital right now with him…He has a lymphnode in his neck that is very very large, a 104 fever, and a rash. And they do not yet know what is wrong with him."

Thank you all so much!
Jane

**Update** 3/30

Joey L. has Kawasaki Disease. Please pray that the hospital will quickly start his treatments and…Please pray specifically that no damage will be done to his heart.

Joey is on a ventilator and is suffering hypotension. This situation requires immediate prayers! Please storm heaven for this little boy (age 4) and his family!

**Update** 3/31

He is doing better…he is by no means great…but he is doing better. They are removing the ventilator and weaning him off the heart medications.

Keep praying…he has a ways to go yet to be healthy…he needs our prayers.

**Update** 4/2

Joey is improving more and more…he will be able to come home Thursday night or Friday sometime.

All Doctors are now in agreement that it was Kawasaki and that the Kawasaki caused Congenital Heart Failure/Congenital Heart Disease. Children recover from this fully though…he will be on heart meds for a few months.

Continued prayers for Joey’s heart to return to normal and give God praise and thanksgiving for his recovery!

Ill Fall-Away Catholic Considering Abortion

We just found out tonight that my husband's cousin who is 29 weeks pregnant has a failing liver. She has been hospitalized and will need a transplant.

The hardest thing about this is that she has left the Church and has lived a life of great sin. I will not list them here but they are dire and have most likely led to this condition.

They are thinking about aborting the baby, despite the fact it seems healthy.

She needs so many prayers for so very much. Please, I beg you to pray for her and her precious baby. Help bring her back to the faith, pray for her to keep her baby, and for her health. Pray for her to know that God loves her deeply despite her failings.

Prayer of Saint Gianna Beretta Molla
Jesus, I promise You to submit myself to all that You permit to befall me, make me only know Your will. My most sweet Jesus, infinitely merciful God, most tender Father of souls, and in a particular way of the most weak, most miserable, most infirm which You carry with special tenderness between Your divine arms, I come to You to ask You, through the love and merits of Your Sacred Heart, the grace to comprehend and to do always Your holy will, the grace to confide in You, the grace to rest securely through time and eternity in Your loving divine arms.
Amen+

Update on Urgent Prayer Request

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for the urgent prayer request I made awhile back, as there has been some important progress made. I feel that continued prayer for guidance and discernment are needed in regard to this confidential request.

I would also like to request prayer to discern whether or not I should continue blogging as I have had numerous overwhelming technical problems -- my blog no longer allows me to make any changes to my layout, my computer has server and connectivity problems on a daily basis, and I need help in these areas if I am to continue to blog.

Spending hours on a daily basis attempting to (unsuccessfully) make changes on my own even with many years of experience at blogging seems to be a waste of my precious time. Please pray that if God wants me to continue this apostolate, He will send someone my way who is a skilled technician who can assist me with all these problems. Thank you.

One Hail Mary for the above requests would mean so much to me. God bless you!

Prayer Request for Fr. C.

For his long flight home to his two sisters seriously ill with cancer.

Thank you.

Prayer Request for My Mom

This is kind of a long story, but my mom lost her puppy last night. This is the third dog she has lost in the last five years or so. The other two were old Newfoundlands but this was just a little puppy and unexpected. She is taking it very hard.

She is also under a lot of stress at work and is not doing well. She took a new job far from home and her parish community. She does not have the support and faith community in her new home and so her dogs are very dear to her.

I am extremely worried about her as she does not even look herself.

So please, say a prayer for her. She really needs some love sent her way.

Thank you

A Correction...

I am afraid I posted wrong about the family of the woman who was killed last week in that accident in the parking lot.
I have just found out that two of the children whom I see over there are not their own children, but a niece and a nephew who visit quite often; Steve & Roxanne had only three of their own.
So sorry for the mistake here, but I guess that just goes to show that they really were a wonderful couple, since others' children would want to stay with them so often! :)
Please continue to keep them in your prayers; I am afraid that the loss of his wife will forever change Steve's happy and carefree nature...and the neighborhood will indeed be the lesser for that.
Since they moved here only a couple of years ago, he has been a kind and friendly presence to everyone he meets, and I pray that he never loses that.

My friend asked that I keep Maddie in my prayers. Maddie is suffering terribly from the results of a staph infection.

From Ed's Blog
Please- this is urgent!!
My friend's son and daughter in law( Ben and Christine) are due with a baby at the end of April. they FOUND OUT THAT THE BABY HAS "PATAU SYNDROME" WHICH IS A CHROMOSONAL (SP?) DEFECT. THE BABY ALREADY HAS SIGNS OF A BRAIN DEFECT AND A CLEF LIP AND PALATE AND OTHER DEFORMITIES. THIS IS HER FIRST PREGNANCY. She is a devout Catholic and will not think of having an abortion, even though she has been asked to by her doctor and family members!
please pray and put this beautiful family on all your prayer chains.
thanks so much!!

David A. Pantaleo, R.I.P.

Well, ladies, I am not sure what is going on around here, but there is another completely unexpected death that I need to report and ask for your prayers.
A young man who was the son of our family photographer, David Pantaleo, died Sunday. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.
Our daughter is getting married in July and David's parents, Al and Debbie, are going to be the photographers...also, Al did graduation photos for several of our other children.
David was only 25 years old.
Thank-you all very much and God bless...

Another Update - Fr. Corapi

The following was posted on Sue's blog today. Apparently, the rumors of Fr. Corapi needing our prayers were not rumors. Sorry for the complications. I should just have requested prayers for him period.

Healing Masses for Fr. Corapi

In recent days, an excerpt from an email from Fr. Corapi to persons unknown has crossed the Internet like a tsunami. Although Santa Cruz Media did not confirm the news when queried two days ago, Fr. Corapi’s community, the Society of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Trinity has confirmed that Fr. Corapi is indeed undergoing testing at the Mayo Clinic.

Fr. Corapi’s superior has approved the sending of Mass Cards for Fr. Corapi.

Mass Cards should be mailed to:
Fr. John Corapi, SOLT
PO Box 152
Robstown, TX 78380

Through Him, With Him, In Him,
Sue

Please pray without ceasing!

Ladies ~ A neighbor of ours, her name was Roxanne, was killed Saturday afternoon while she was out shopping with two of her children.
They were standing at the back of the car, putting away groceries, and an elderly woman across the way was backing out, panicked when she saw them, and stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal by mistake, hitting Roxanne and pinning her between the two cars!
Then, trying to move away (I guess) she drove forward, dragging her along, hitting two more parked cars and a pole, before she finally stopped!!!
Poor Roxanne's last act on this earth was to push the children away so they would not be hit.
She and her husband Steve had five children and the family is, needless to say, completely devastated.
Please keep them all in your prayers, that Our Lord and His Blessed Mother will remain with them (I don't believe they are Catholic) and comfort them in the nightmare of days ahead...her funeral is today and then the family will have to find a way to go forward without her.
They were on our local news yesterday...the truck was parked outside the house for over an hour, and the reporters also went to the store and talked to witnesses, also to the police.
This event has sickened the entire neighborhood and I don't believe Steve will be without support for a long time to come, but that doesn't bring his beloved Roxanne back...I feel so awful for them; please pray without ceasing!!!
Thank-you very much and God bless us, everyone!
